PROS: This chair is so much better than using a manual wheelchair which was cumbersome, and gave me back spasms and fatigue.
I can now easily go through doorways without me banging into the door frame, take my dog for a walk down the street, and gives me (and my husband) independence from having to push me.
CONS: loud beeping when turned on.

I bought the Journey Air Elite specifically for travel. At 29 lbs including battery it is light enough to easily load in and out of the car. Packs up super small for gate checking at the airport. There is no custom cover available so I bought two large Velcro straps to bind it tight when folded. I usually get two full days out of the battery. Big enough for anyone up to 200 lbs in my opinion. Does well on paved hills and flat gravel surfaces.

Received this carbon fiber power wheelchair about 2 weeks ago. My 86 yr old husband took right to it. We have the So-Lite regular chair in the house but use the new power chair for outside the home. He doesn't have to wait in the car while I go in stores to shop. Easy to go into restaurants. I have a bad shoulder so even at 26# I have to lift in and out. But it's worth it to now walk along beside him vs pushing him the past year and a half.

Yes, and here are a few things you need to know before taking your Journey Air Elite power chair on a plane. Your Journey Air Elite chair should qualify as free baggage with most airlines, but you can call your airline prior to your trip to make sure. You can ride your Journey Air Elite chair all the way up to the gate and down the jetway. As you get to the end of the jetway, you will need to remove the battery from the back of the chair, fold your chair and hand it to a flight attendant to stow it under the plane. Take the battery on the plane with you to your seat. Be sure to contact your specific airline to ask for their procedures for transporting a battery-powered vehicle, and see your Journey Air Elite USA User Manual for more info. The Journey Air Elite Chair can be pushed about easily when there is no rider in it; however, it is not specifically intended that seated users be pushed around in wheelchair fashion by others as an alternative to the chair's foremost purpose: a powered self-driving experience. (If you wish to prevent your Journey Air Elite Chair from being pushed from behind, you simply lock it in place.)
The swinging footrest, backrest and seat are not adjustable. However, the Journey Air Elite is designed to accommodate people of a wide variety of sizes. Some Air Elite owners with special comfort needs have chosen to add an additional cushion.
Battery performance depends on usage and conditions, but most Journey Air Elite Chair owners enjoy up to ten miles of use on a single charge, and rarely need to recharge more than once a day. Charging typically takes 6–8 hours or less, depending on how much power has been used. With proper care, the battery lasts for several years before needing replacement.
The charger will operate on on 100V or 220V. If you are traveling abroad, you'll need an inexpensive plug converter to fit the outlets of your destination.
