I am very impressed with the UPbed Independence because it is more than a bed and more than a chair. I purchased it for my husband who has progressive Parkinson's disease. He has been spending his nights and days on a lift chair, but he needs to be able to turn on his side or back prevent bed sores.
The head of UPbed can be raised and the foot can be adjusted for comfort similar to a hospital bed. But better than that, UPbed can become a lift chair that swivels left or right and rises up and reclines like his lift chair. The UPbed frame is made well and very sturdy. The mattress is comfortable, not soft and not too hard. It's definitely worth the price.
