We know that for many veterans, adapting to life after service or dealing with age-related challenges feels like a new mission. It’s a mission that deserves recognition and support. That’s why we offer practical, easy-to-use mobility solutions, along with exclusive savings through our military discount.
The Importance of Mobility for Veterans
Regaining mobility and independence is about far more than simply getting around. It’s about maintaining dignity, freedom, and your sense of self. For many veterans, mobility challenges, whether from chronic pain, service-related injuries, or aging, can make daily routines frustrating. Our goal is to help you, and those who care for you, restore comfort and confidence so you can keep doing what you love.
Top Mobility Solutions Built for Veterans
Scooters, power chairs, and walkers all serve different purposes. Read on to learn about each mobility device and see stories from veterans who use them for daily independence.
Mobility Scooters: Go Further, Stay Comfortable
If you can walk short distances but tire quickly, a scooter may be right for you. They provide comfort and stability for longer outings. Scooters can be used indoors or outdoors, but they have a wider turn radius than other devices and need more space to operate effectively.

Journey’s So Lite® scooter weighs just over 40 pounds, is FAA compliant for hassle-free air travel, and uses innovative Electronic Stability Control for safe turns. The Journey Adventure scooter is durable and easy to handle, with simple controls and a wallet-friendly price. Both scooters have modular designs, allowing them to fold or break down into smaller parts so you can transport them without specialized equipment.
Power Chairs: Freedom All Day
For veterans with higher VA disability ratings or limited upper body strength, power chairs can be life changing. They provide compact, comfortable support wherever life takes you, indoors or outdoors. They pull right up to tables and desks to make daily activities easier.
The Journey Zoomer® folds with one hand and the heaviest part weighs only 19 pounds. Its tight turning radius and floating footrest mean you can move effortlessly, even in small spaces.
“I am a 100% disabled Veteran and the VA scooter was just too large to transport around. I just received my Zoomer Wheelchair today and I am looking forward to going out more.” – Charles
Looking for a sportier ride? Check out the Journey Zinger®. This fun and lightweight power chair has a 24” zero-turn radius, much tighter than standard power chairs. It weighs just 42 pounds without the battery and folds in seconds with a single pull to roll like a suitcase. The Zinger is fast and functional, easy to drive indoors and out.
"100% disabled veteran, I have a small car with little trunk space with no room behind the seat. For years my caregiver would have to walk from the parking lot to retrieve a wheelchair to push me around the VA hospital.
Now we drive to the parking lot and she can unload the Zinger chair, help me into the chair. From that point on I’m able to transport myself around the hospital.” – Chuck
Walkers and Rollators: Daily Confidence
Some veterans prefer walkers or rollators for home and everyday outings. The UPWalker® series encourages upright posture, reduces strain, and is available in multiple sizes for a perfect fit. The built-in seat and padded backrest offer a welcome break when you need it.
“Our adult son has a brain injury from the Army so has balance issues. This walker has given him his freedom back. It has more stable base than a regular walker and the height helps him stand straighter. The hand brakes are easy to access. It folds easily and is light enough to easily be lifted into the trunk.” – Gail, Army mom and caregiver
“He is happy especially after we exchanged the original standard model for the large size which included a brace/bracket for more stability. His shoulder hurts much less because he can stand up…I want to thank you for allowing us to easily exchange the original standard model for the one that is large size. The service was very good." – Ron, friend of WWII combat veteran Burt
Sleep Chairs: Rest and Relaxation
For those who struggle with sleep due to injuries or discomfort, the Perfect Sleep Chair® offers heat, massage, and zero-gravity positioning to improve circulation and reduce pain. The remote-controlled recliner supports you from upright to fully flat, helping you rest and rise with ease.

These sit-and-sleep recliners are comfortable and versatile, supporting a variety of positions from upright sitting to fully flat sleeping. The Perfect Sleep Chair can help relieve back pain, reduce swelling in the legs, improve blood flow, and reduce snoring.
Bathroom Safety Aids
We understand that the bathroom poses extra risks for slipping and falling. Products like the SoftSecure 3-in-1 Commode Chair and Rotating Shower Chair offer stability, comfort, and tool-free assembly. Non-slip grips and easy adjustment mean more confidence for everyone. The medical grade foam padding includes built-in Microban® antimicrobial technology, which continuously protects against odor, bacteria, mold, and mildew, keeping the chair seat and back fresher and easier to clean between uses.
Microban® is a registered trademarkk of Microban Products Company. Antimicrobial Technology does not protect the user from disease-causing pathogens.
VA Disability Compensation
You may be eligible for VA disability compensation if you have a service-connected condition. You must meet both of the following requirements to be eligible:
- Have a current illness or injury that affects mind or body, and
- Served on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training
- And at least one of these applies:
- You got sick or injured while serving and can link your current condition to the illness or injury
- You had an illness or injury before serving and serving made it worse
- You have a disability related to your active-duty service that wasn't apparent until you ended your service
There are also presumptive conditions, including a chronic illness that appears within one year after discharge, illness caused by time spent as a prisoner of war, and illness caused by contact with contaminants.
The VA disability rating chart is used to assign a disability rating based on severity. This is shown as a percentage, which is used to determine your disability compensation rate and eligibility for other benefits. The disability rating is based on evidence you provide (doctor’s report, medical results), the results of your VA claim exam (if applicable), and other information such as details provided by federal agencies.
You may qualify for VA funding or reimbursement for certain mobility products. Veteran assistance for mobility equipment can help reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
Real Stories: Veterans Regaining Their Freedom
“I have had my Zinger for a few days now and it has already improved my independence. I did have a scooter with a receiver jack on the back of my car and loading and unloading was awkward and heavy. Loading/unloading my Zinger is so easy and fast. My Zinger was very easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to understand. I enjoy driving it around.” – Ace, Marine veteran
“I am 60 percent handicapped retired military and cannot walk without help. I…use my Zoomer to get around the house.” – Jerry
