Journey Air Elite Max Replacement Battery

Keep an extra charge ready or replace a worn battery with the official Journey Air Elite Max lithium battery. Designed to drop into either side of the Air Elite Max, it installs in seconds — no tools required — so you can swap on the go and keep rolling.

Tool-Free Installation: Power down the joystick, switch off the old battery, lift it out, and slide the new one in. The process is the same on both sides — turn the red power switch back on and you're ready to go.

Charge Two Ways: Charge it installed by plugging into the back of the joystick, or remove it and charge through the 3-hole port. The charger light shows orange when plugged in, blue while charging, and green when fully charged.

Carry a Spare for Extra Range: A second battery doubles your time between charges — ideal for longer days out, travel, or keeping one always topped up at home.

How do I install the battery?

Turn off the joystick, switch off the red power switch on the old battery, remove it, and install the new one (the process is the same on both sides). Turn the red power switch back on, then turn the joystick on — if the chair operates normally, the installation is complete.

How do I charge it?

Make sure the joystick is off, the battery's red power switch is on, and the chair is in electric mode. Then either plug the charger into the back of the joystick, or remove the battery and plug the charger into its 3-hole port. Orange means plugged in, blue means charging, and green means fully charged.

The battery won't turn on after sitting unused — what's wrong?

If a battery isn't used for 3 days (72 hours), it goes into a power-saving dormant mode. To wake it, simply turn on the red power switch on the battery.

How should I charge the battery safely?

Always use the charger supplied with your Air Elite Max — other chargers can damage the battery or create a safety hazard. Don't charge for more than 18 hours in a single session, and avoid charging a frozen battery; let it return to room temperature first.

How do I keep the battery healthy over time?

Recharge before it drops too low rather than running it all the way down, and recharge within a reasonable time after each use instead of storing it depleted. Even when you're not using the chair regularly, charge the battery at least once every two weeks to keep it in good condition.

Can I pair a new battery with my older one?

Use matching batteries of the same specification. Don't mix new and used batteries, or batteries from different suppliers — combining mismatched batteries can affect performance and safety.

Can I store the battery for long periods without charging?

No — don't leave the battery stored in a discharged state. Top it up before storage and recharge it at least every two weeks so it doesn't sit empty.
